Polish National Alliance PNA
About This Spot
Stepping into the Polish National Alliance PNA in South St. Paul feels like entering a tucked-away piece of local history, a place resonating with quiet warmth and generations of community life. Nestled in what looks more like a home than a conventional bar, the atmosphere carries a comforting sense of familiarity — like a basement gathering spot where time slows down and stories unfold over well-poured drinks.
The pace here is unhurried and genuine. It’s the kind of place where laughter drifts from a corner booth alongside the steady clink of pool balls and the nostalgic buzz of pinball machines. Conversations ebb and flow naturally, bridging neighbors and newcomers alike, creating a shared space that feels lived-in yet welcoming. There’s a certain subtle pride woven into the walls, a testament to the enduring spirit of the Polish community that built and cherishes this hall.
Behind the bar, the ambiance is shaped by easy camaraderie and Midwestern warmth. The menu, though simple, holds touches of cultural comfort — imagine cracking open a cold Polish beer or savoring a slice of local favorite, Heggies Pizza, while exchanging stories with regulars who’ve been coming here for years. It’s not about flashy offerings, but about sharing moments and savoring familiar flavors in a setting that feels like a well-kept secret.
For visitors seeking a pause from the fast pace of everyday life, the PNA is special in its understated character. It invites you to slow down, join a game, and become a part of the ongoing story — a gathering place where roots run deep and the spirit of a neighborhood endures with quiet strength.

Made the voyage to humble south St. Paul a few weekends ago with the PNA as my sole destination. As soon as I sauntered in was greeted by a few regulars and the welcoming bartender. I whiled away a few hours there chugging bud light, playing pinball, chatting with the staff and regulars. If you enjoy basements, pool/pinball and talking to strangers this is a paramount establishment for ya. Take a good look before you visit for the average joe will drive right past this gem

Treasure trove destination. Polish underground, Polish brain teasers, Good Polish Beer! Polish Vodka, Polish playing cards, ask Knowledgeable Lonnie manager, president, bartender for a tour.

Best kept secret in South St. Paul Minnesota. Great place to host an event. #ilovessp #ssplocal #boldnorth

Nice local bar in the bottom of a house feel. The bartender is Midwest MN awesome. A life long resident feel with a lifelong residential feel to an old historic Polish Hall. These are become rarer and rarer, definitely worth the stop for the life experience.

We had decades of memories here with my Grandmother Maxine who lived above the bar in the duplex. She was an Honarary member of this Club. I will never forget this hidden gem. The best place ever!

Took my overweight buddy here once and he got stuck in the bathroom stall but the bartenders were nice enough to grease him up with fryer oil to get him out. Good beer selection

Stopped in because I saw it on Google. Be and Brian could not have been more welcoming. What a little gem.

It's my little hidden speakeasy. Everyone includes everyone. It's a comfortable upbeat environment. I've made so many lifelong friends here it's crazy. Definitely one of my favorite places to be.
